The above clip is a brief view of the 18 minute DVD produced in Sheboygan Co. about the Nursing Home's and Assisted Living Center's  need for  the Chaplain and/or Deaconess visits.  Residents must have the Word of God taught to them in Worship and Bible Studies.  Pastor Tom takes God's Word on a regular basis to these "congregations" and he schedules area Pastors to be active in other Nursing Homes. Contact Pastor Tom for a visit, watch the 18 minute DVD and have this vital ministry explained why it's so necessary.   Be a supporter of this mission and make a contact to learn more.

For over 37 years, the Sheboygan Co. Chaplaincy Ministry has been an active part in the area Nursing Homes conducting Worship Services, Bible Studies, patient and staff counseling, and now VBS programs for the residents.  The Chaplain's bedside visits, Chapel services, family interactions, congregational preaching visits and community presence are the "visible" means by which His church  reaches those often "invisible" to others.  Christian Day Schools and 16 area LCMS Pastors help encourage the residents with their  scheduled  visits.  There are over 12 area Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Centers now being served by the Chaplaincy Ministry.

This ministry has also established an internship year for the Deaconess Program out of Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN working along with the Lutheran World Relief and Human Care services from the Synod in St. Louis, MO.  The Deaconess will have a two-fold experience of nursing home ministry under Chaplain Tom Fleischmann and serving in the parish setting under Rev. Robert Steele at Bethany in Kohler, WI.   This intern year is also supported by the LWML of SouthWisconsin District.

Our theme has been Matthew 25:40 where Jesus said,  "Whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me".

A ministry that cares for the spiritual well-being for the elderly, infirmed, dementia patients, and the developmentally disabled; their families; and care-givers.
